It is a great experience working with CAN-STOP. I have been a part of CAMP He Ho Ha, a 2 day residential camp for cancer survivors and their families. It is a very blessing moment to share happiness with them. CAN-STOP helps survivors and families in a holistic manner. Regular Resource center programmes are conducted through which the children learn new skills. I am very happy to be a part to CAN-STOP.

From my childhood I had the passion for helping the needy, and CAN-STOP has given me an opportunity to fulfill my passion. Working with CAN-STOP, I came to know how cancer has affected many individuals in our society and how a simple interaction, love and care make a difference in their lives. I am a part of the nutrition programme in the Women’s hospital, Egmore, where tender coconut water is supplied to the cancer patients. I feel highly satisfied to be a part of CAN-STOP.

I joined CAN-STOP in the year 1999, and my focus was anti-tobacco campaigns. As an individual, I wanted to provide awareness about the ill-effects of tobacco, and CAN-STOP provided me a platform to explore my area of expertise. My assignment started by providing awareness camps at petrol bunks, workers at Koyambedu bus depot, and now it has extended to the metro rail workers, taxi, auto drivers and car mechanics. CAN-STOP has supported me to promote for a cause, by convincing many individuals to stop using tobacco in any form and to lead a healthy life.

My experience with Canstop, cannot be explained in words. To start with I was not very confident to interact with patients and their sufferings. But when I started it gave me immense satisfaction as I was able to convince the patients and bring a positive attitude among them and their kins.

My journey with CANSTOP was with attending medical camps gradually my inner instinct prompted me to do more for the needy.  Losing my beloved grandmother to this dreadful disease provoked me to create awareness among the population, hence became an active volunteer.

It’s really a pleasant experience working with CANSTOP, the dedication and commitment towards the community is amazing. Working with children is my passion and CAN-STOP has helped me to know more children and work for them. I have been an active member of Camp He..He..Ho, awareness rallies, CAN-SWAP etc. Participating in One Walk One Hope (awareness on breast cancer) was an enriching experience, where thousands of members showed their support towards womanhood. Being a coordinator for CAN-SWAP, a workshop for adolescent pediatric cancer survivors, I was able to get in touch with doctors, para-medical professionals and many personalities in other fields of excellence. Its my honour and privilege to be associated with CANSTOP.

I have been a part of CAN-STOP right from the inception. I lost my mother due to blood cancer and I feel destined to serve people affected with cancer. When we go to the Kancheepuram Cancer Hospital (women’s ward), the patients value us a lot by our presence, since their family members would not turn up to visit them. CAN-STOP has given me a golden opportunity to make a small difference in their lives and motivate them to fight the villain called, cancer. I have been also an active member in stalls where we sell CAN-STOP products and got to know many people. I feel very happy working for CAN-STOP.

I joined CANSTOP as I wanted to dedicate my service to Cancer patients due to losing my sister to Cancer. I am in charge of “Sponsor a Child” Program where we take care to provide for the complete treatment of the child including his/her nutrition & transportation to & fro to hospital. As an off-shoot of this activity I also enjoy “Camp HE! HO! HA!, where the complete family of the child is taken for a stay over at Dakshin Chitra which is fun filled. Over all working with “CANSTOP” has been very satisfying & wish many will join this noble cause.

CAN-STOP is more like a family to me. CAN-STOP plays a vital role in supporting children affected with cancer, survivors and their families. CAN-STOP takes care of the minute details of the survivors and extends the care to the family members. I have been an active member of the Rose day programmes in creating awareness about reducing the risks of developing cancer among schools and colleges. I am very comfortable being a part of CAN-STOP. CAN-STOP can’t stop CARING.
